WORKSHOP: Successful Self-Publishing
Join Anna Featherstone, author of Look–It’s Your Book!, for this informative and inspirational workshop where you’ll discover why more Australian writers are choosing to be authorpreneurs and the nitty gritty of how they’re doing it.
Whether you’re writing memoir, a business book, an expert how-to, or a non-fiction book on a subject that fascinates you, come along to hear about how quality self-publishing can be a viable alternative to traditional publishing.
Anna spent a year interviewing a range of Australian self-published authors (including Kim McCosker of 4-Ingredients who has sold 9+ million cookbooks) as well as publishing insiders including editors, librarians, booksellers, book designers, proofreaders and marketers. At this workshop, she will share her top 10 tips and open your eyes to common self-publishing pitfalls so you can straight out avoid them.
As writing a book is just a small part of the publishing process, the workshop will focus more on strategy and how you can efficiently pre-plan, quality control, produce, distribute, market and leverage your book. The workshop will include a workbook so that after the event, you can continue on your writing and publishing journey.
Anna Featherstone is the author of Look It’s Your Book!, Small Farm Success Australia, Honey Farm Dreaming and two other non-fiction titles. She has written for The Guardian and the Sydney Morning Herald, is Australian Ambassador for the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), and is a member of the Australian Society of Authors (ASA) and the Small Press Network (SPN).
There are limited seats for this workshop so book through Avid Reader soon. Look forward to meeting you there.
