Why I’m excited to be Australian ambassador for the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi)

November 29, 2021

You know that feeling when someone or something has enriched you and you just want to spread the word? When you’ve had a great experience at a store or restaurant, or attended a great course or talk or read a great book … and you just want to tell everyone about it?

Well that’s how I feel about the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), a nonprofit association for self-published writers (fiction and non-fiction) and why I was so excited to be asked to be their Australian ambassador this week.

If you want to be (or already are) an authorpreneur, self-publisher or an author who has been traditionally published but are exploring your indie publishing options, ALLi is the representative body for you.

ALLi offers robust advice and guides, interactive forums, a fabulous podcast and member services including discounts that can really add up. It’s great for the whole range of stages you go through as an indie author, from bare beginner right through to authors making seven-figure incomes.

I’ve gained huge value from my ALLi membership and the knowledge I’ve picked up from its resources and interactive groups have saved me money and time – two things we writers often need more of!

Yes, I am an ambassador for ALLi in Australia, and I am also an affiliate for them. There’s more information on how you as an author can make use of affiliate programs in Look – It’s Your Book! as well as in the ALLi resources too.

I rate ALLi as the best global organisation for self-publishers, and once you get a bit further into your publishing journey, the Australian organisations The Small Press Network (SPN) is also wonderful, as is the Australian Society of Authors.
