Podcast: A potential printing, distribution & special edition supplier
As one of the hosts of the Self Publishing with ALLi Podcast, I get to focus in each month on all things to do with book production and distribution.
It might be a chat:
- with an author about how they produce and distribute print, ebooks and audiobooks
- about how you could produce a zine to boost your creativity and reach more readers
- or a discussion about non-fiction book indexes
- or an in-depth look at how to get your book into libraries,
- or how to distribute your audiobook
- and even how to save money when outsourcing your book’s production
Whatever the chat and whoever it’s with, I get to be curious on your behalf and ask questions of authors and companies, that help illuminate the many different ways you can produce and distribute your books.
There’s no one right way for any book or author, but it’s great to be across what’s out there so you can do your due diligence and make your own decisions.
And I was curious to learn more about Bookvault, as a few months ago they began offering some of their services in Australia, whereas before, it was only available to UK and US authors.
On the podcast, I speak with with Alex Smith, BookVault’s brand manager, to learn what the company offers, how it operates globally, and whether it might be a good fit for authors looking to diversify how they produce and distribute their books. I especially loved hearing about their special editions service (unfortunately not currently produced in Australia but can be shipped here) and how the company strives to adapt its services based on author feedback. We also delve into how it is different from IngramSpark and KDP but can also work alongside them.
