Mentoring for authors – just some of the lots available through creative fundraiser auction for Lismore flood recovery
Reminiscent of #authorsforfireys an auction that drew Australia’s creative community together to raise funds for bushfire recovery, a new auction has been launched to help raise funds for Lismore to recover from the 2022 floods. It’s so wonderful to be part of such a caring and creative lot and to actually be able to do something.
One of the many stark images of the recent NSW Floods were the piles of damaged books being thrown out of the top windows of the Lismore Library. Such devastation across so much of the North Coast and SE Queensland community.
Organised by children’s author Zanni Louise, the auction includes all sorts of fabulous items including
- mentoring sessions with various authors and literary agents
- original artworks and signed prints
- signed copies of books
- manuscript assessments
- book club and school author visits
Through the fundraiser I’m offering a 30 minute call to discuss publication and marketing opportunities for your non-fiction book project. You can ask me anything. The auction item also includes a copy of ‘Look – It’s Your Book! Write, Publish & Promote Your Non-Fiction Book: A Self-Publishing Guide for Australian Writers’ plus the accompanying ‘Look – It’s Your Book!’ workbook.
This type of auction is a way not just to support a community in need, but also to get some unique gifts either for yourself or the writers and readers in your life. Get into it!
